Thing is, i dont want a audio box. I'm now int he same boat since my current PC is on it's last legs. Reading around the web, I had a lot of worry about my E-MU 0404 USB and it's compatibility with Windows 7 64--bit. I hope they get their act together soon.
So then the card was in device manager, so i tried to load the driver over and over and my computer wouldnt take it. Maybe i'm lucky,maybe it's the OS configuration that varies between the people who got it working and those who didn't.it is a discontinued product so it's unlikely to get any updates.
