There are experts there that will be able to help you. i8042.reset didn't work for me. My touchpad controller returns one of the forbidden values (0x14) so I've tried a quick hack: removing the offending value from the list in that function. I was loosing hope to make it work on my Lenovo Ideapad Z510, but now I have two fingers scroll and disable while typing…a new world.
